the CO Project Portugal is now permanently closed
Thank you to everyone who came to the CO Project during the 3 years it was open and operating as a brain spa in rural Portugal. We are happy that the farm will continue to be loved and cared for by its new owners, and for now, it is no longer open to the public. This website will remain up as an archive of the project designed by Leyla Acaroglu and the UnSchool team.

THE CO PROJECT FARM HAS FOUND ITS NEW OWNERS
Thank you to all the people who have been involved in and supported the CO Project Farm over the last few years. It has been such a pleasure and honour to rebuild the incredible farm and create a community-oriented space for contemporary sustainability.
After much consideration, we decided that the farm needed new custodians so it could continue its regeneration journey in these complex COVID times.

We are happy to say we have found a family who will be the new custodians, and in their own time and way will move the project and space forward.
At some point in the future we hope that the UnSchool team can create a 2.0 version of the CO Project in a new location in the future. But for now we are happy that this beautiful part of the world will have new life and energy.

Os últimos dois meses têm sido uma série de experiências únicas e novas para o mundo quase todo, e nós não estamos imunes às mudanças dramáticas que ainda estão a decorrer. Esperávamos poder resistir à tempestade e começar a receber as pessoas de volta na quinta para os dias abertos e programas de verão, mas chegamos à conclusão de que isso não será possível com a segurança necessária para oferecer experiência comunitárias incríveis.
A quinta é um sistema vivo e precisa de vida para crescer e continuar a fornecer inspiração. Assim, decidimos que durante este ano, iremos arrendar o espaço como quinta de agricultura biológica disponível para uma família ou um grupo que deseje experienciar um estilo de vida rural verdadeiramente sustentável, aprender a cultivar organicamente e ter uma experiência imersiva neste sistema de vida fantástico. Isso significa que agora temos a quinta disponível para aluguer (se conhecerem famílias interessadas em experienciar a vida rural, partilhem) e que iremos suspender os programas e atividades na quinta até ao próximo ano, data em que faremos uma reavaliação e esperamos poder abrir novamente no verão de 2021, dependendo das condições globais.
A natureza é um dos melhores sistemas para aprender a ser adaptável e forte em tempos de adversidade, sabemos que o futuro será mais verde e a sustentabilidade já se está a tornar uma parte massiva da reconstrução, por isso estamos animados em continuar a ajudar na criação da transformação de muitas outras formas durante este tempo. Se também estás, vê todos os recursos que a nossa organização irmã a UnSchool tem para oferecer e mantém-te saudável, esperamos ver-te no próximo ano!
The last two months have presented an array of entirely unique and new experiences for nearly the entire world, and we are not immune to the dramatic changes that are still underway. We were hopeful we could weather the storm and start to welcome people back to the farm for open days and programs for the summertime, but we have come to the realisation that this won't be possible with the safety needed, and still provide incredible community based experiences.
The farm is a living system and it needs life to help it grow and continue to provide inspiration. We have thus decided that for this year, we will offer the entire facility and fully functioning organic farm for rent to a family or group who want to experience a truly sustainable rural lifestyle, teach themselves organic farming and immerse themselves in a fantastic living system. This means right now we have the farm available for rent (if you know any families who want to give a rural life a go, please share), and that we will be suspending programs and activities on the farm until this time next year when we will reassess and hopefully be able to open our doors again in summer 2021, depending on the global conditions.
Nature is one of the best systems for learning how to be adaptive and strong in times of adversity, we know the future will be greener and sustainability is already becoming a massive part of the rebuild, so we are excited to continue to help create the transformation in many other ways in this time.
